Gracefield Park Finals Fever
Purebred Connemara Gelding
13.2hh, rising 6yo
$16,500 to a five star home
Located Lethbridge Victoria (with our junior rider)
Fable is a straightforward ride, smart little all rounder, and ready to find his next best friend. Fable would suit as a second pony, or fun ride for a small teen or even adult rider.
Fable has enough forwards to get around a jumps course or dressage arena, but is also happy to plonk along on a loose rein, and isn't eager or hot to work harder than he needs to to get the job done. Good to get into and through water out on XC and would be a eventer for a capable child ready to hit the courses.
He has been broken in, trained, and competed by a knowledgeable junior rider, and has been willing to give everything a go. He has attended combined training, horse trails, freshmans, pony club, and social rides.
Fable was recently ridden by a 10yo rider for whom he was just as happy to listen, respond, and adjusted to her confidence level by happily jogging over small poles and jumps, and gave a smart walk / trot / canter on both a loose rein and working into a bit of contact for her.
Fable has started competing to give him a positive start to the competition world, and is ready to continue onwards & upwards in his new home. He is schooling Grade 4 - 3 on the flat, and up to 80cm over jumps at home, with the potential to continue to climb the grades.
He has taken home reserve Champion at Barwon Equine Showjumping Tournament Round 5 (F Grade), and Champion at Smythesdale Horse Trials (30 pen, 76% dressage test).
Fable is great to catch, load, ties well, is good to yard at comps, easy to rug, wash, feet, etc. Has ridden out down the road - he can get a little nervous if he is the only horse heading out, but gains confidence. If he is the one left behind at home he is happy to wait for his friends to return. He is an honest & adjustable ride, but still a young horse and will require a home and rider who will continue to bring him along with that in mind.
Fable can occasionally throw in a half hearted pigroot - typically when tired, and can spook but recovers quickly and does not tend to carry that tension through the rest of the ride. He is just a bit of a sook. He has never shown any true buck, rear, bolt, etc.
